Green Wave Baseball

Baseball is not a way of life; it is the ONLY way of life.  At least it seemed this way for years.  Andy started to play traveling baseball when he was 9.  During the years to follow, we made all of our vacations “baseball trips” with the Green Wave team.  In fact, Jessie was asked at school about vacations and she said they were trips where one watches baseball.

Andy played with the Green Wave team until age 18 when he went to college.  He was good enough to earn All-State honors in high school and receive a big scholarship from Western Michigan to play Division 1 baseball.

To get a sense of what this is all about, here are pictures highlighting the trip to Aurilia Iowa to play in the age 9 bracket of the CABA World Series representing the State of Illinois.  We stayed at this God Awful motel named the Tall Corn.  We did our partying on the curb outside our rooms.  We even went to a rodeo.  Yes, most would say it was the worst of times; we thought it was the best of times.

Do y'know what we get to do today? We get to watch baseball!
